Custom wig options: bangs, plucked hairline, bleached knots and more

Because every wig is made at the factory, most details can be customized; tell us what you need before you order and we confirm the cost and extra time.

Step by step

  • Bangs, layers or a different cut, quoted on request.
  • Pre-plucked hairline when the hair batch in production allows it; ask us before you order.
  • Bleached knots: a paid add-on you can pick on every lace wig.
  • Glueless: 4x4 and 5x5 closures are glueless as standard; 13x4 and 13x6 lace fronts take the glueless add-on.
  • Custom colors: human hair can be dyed or bleached, but very light shades may not be reachable from darker hair.
  • Anything not listed as an option is quoted before you pay and may add preparation time.

Wigs with bangs: which bangs to ask for

Bangs are cut on request, before your wig ships, and quoted before you pay. Tell us which style you want and where it should fall, ideally with a photo.

  • Blunt bangs: a straight, full line at or just below the brows; sharp on straight hair and bobs.
  • Curtain bangs: parted in the middle and swept to both sides, longer at the edges; the softest option, and they blend easily into face-framing layers.
  • Side-swept bangs: longer on one side, falling across the forehead; good with a side part and round faces.
  • Wispy bangs: thin and see-through, cut with point cuts; they soften the face without a heavy line.
  • Curly bangs: cut dry, curl by curl, and left longer than the target, because each curl springs up.
  • Bangs also cover the front edge of the lace or closure, so the hairline needs less work; on a closure wig they hide where the lace ends.

What a pre-plucked hairline is, and when you can get one

A new lace wig often has its knots packed evenly right up to the front, so the hairline looks thick and too straight. Plucking removes some hairs from the first rows, so the density builds gradually from a few fine hairs at the edge to full hair behind, the way a natural hairline grows, often with a few fine baby hairs at the edge.

We pluck the hairline at the factory only when the hair batch in production allows it, so ask us before you order and we confirm it for your wig. If it is not available, you can pluck lightly at home: a few hairs at a time with slanted tweezers, in daylight, checking in the mirror as you go. Stop early; plucked hair does not grow back.

Bleached knots: what the add-on does

Every hair on the lace is tied on with a tiny knot. On dark hair those knots show as small dark dots at the part and hairline. Bleaching lightens the knots so the lace reads as scalp. It is a paid add-on on standard wigs: you pick it with your options and its price shows before you add the wig to the cart.

  • Worth it for middle parts, slicked-back styles, HD lace and anything seen up close or on camera.
  • Less needed on 613 blonde, where the knots are already pale, and under bangs, which cover the front.
  • Bleached knots are a little more delicate: part the hair with a comb tail rather than nails, and keep strong clarifying shampoos away from the part.
  • Fashion-color lace fronts come on a fixed 13x4 transparent lace without add-ons; each wig page shows which add-ons it offers.

How custom orders work

Custom work follows the same simple path, whether it is one wig or a wholesale order.

  • Choose the base wig: texture, color, length, density and lace.
  • Pick the listed add-ons, such as glueless on 13x4 and 13x6, bleached knots and drawstring; their prices show before you add the wig to the cart.
  • For anything else, such as bangs, layers, a pre-plucked hairline or a custom color, message us before you order, ideally with a reference photo. We confirm what can be made, the cost and any extra time before you pay.
  • Before shipping we send photos or a short video of your exact wig, so you see the finished work first.
  • For Mexico and Colombia the delivered price includes shipping and import duties.
  • Wholesale orders can include custom work too, quoted per style and quantity.

Questions

How do you style a wig with bangs?

Style the bangs first, while the rest of the hair is clipped back. Mist them, blow-dry them down over a round brush so they curve toward the face, then smooth them with one light pass of a flat iron at moderate heat. If bangs split, flip or sit too long, re-wet and dry them the other way, or trim a little at a time. Keep heavy products off; bangs rest on your forehead and get greasy fast.

How do you make a wig with bangs look natural?

Soften the line and connect the bangs to the rest of the hair. Point-cut the ends so they are not a hard block, thin heavy bangs, and blend the sides into face-framing pieces. Keep some lift at the roots, and match the part to your scalp. Bangs at or just below the brows look more natural than very short ones, and they hide the front edge of the lace, which is why many wigs look more natural with bangs.

What is a pre-plucked wig?

A pre-plucked wig is one whose hairline was thinned before it shipped. Instead of an even, dense row of hair along the front, it starts with a few fine hairs at the edge and builds to full density behind them, the way a natural hairline grows. On our wigs a pre-plucked hairline depends on the hair batch in production, so ask us before you order and we confirm it for your wig.

How do you put on a pre-plucked wig?

Like any lace wig, with extra care at the front. Place the wig and tighten the band as usual, then trim the lace slowly before securing it, because the thinned edge leaves less hair to hide a cutting mistake. Lay the fine front hairs and baby hairs with a little edge control and a soft brush instead of slicking them back hard. Do not pluck more before the first wear: see how the hairline sits on your head first.

How do you make a wig with bangs?

Cut the bangs into the wig on a stand. Pin the wig on a head-shaped stand, set your usual part and section a triangle at the front, from the part to the outer corners of the brows; clip the rest away. Comb the section down and cut it an inch longer than you want, then point-cut into the ends and trim to length. Cut straight hair slightly damp or dry, curly hair dry. Or ask us to cut them before shipping, quoted before you pay.

How do you cut a bob wig with bangs?

Cut the bob first, then the bangs. With the wig pinned to a stand, set the bob length at the nape and match the sides to it, angling slightly longer toward the face if you like. Then section a triangle at the front for the bangs, cut them long, check the shape on your head and trim a little at a time. Our bobs come cut from 10 to 16 inches, and bangs can be cut on request before shipping, quoted before you pay.

How do you cut layers in a bob wig?

Keep the outline and take weight from inside. Set the bob length first, then lift thin sections from the crown and cut them shorter than the outline, each one guided by the last, so the hair steps down toward the ends. Short layers at the crown add lift; longer ones only soften the edge. Point-cut the ends and check the shape on your head, because layers cannot be undone.

How do you cut a curly wig into layers?

Cut it dry, curl by curl, in its natural shape. Put the wig on a stand or your head, fluff it out and look at the outline. Trim the curls that stick out past the shape you want, cutting each one at the bend of the curl, and go shorter on top for lift. Work from the face toward the back and step away often. Never cut curls wet or stretched: they spring up unevenly.

How do you customize a closure wig?

Work on the part, the edge and the fit. Bleach the knots or tint the lace so the part reads as scalp, pluck a few hairs along the front of the closure so the edge is not a straight line, and trim the lace just ahead of your hairline. Then set the band to your head. Face-framing layers or curtain bangs hide the cap edge at the temples. Bleached knots are a paid add-on; cuts are quoted on request.

How do you pluck a wig with bangs?

Pluck less than on a wig without bangs: the bangs cover most of the front hairline, so only the part and the edges at the temples show. With the wig on a stand, pull one or two hairs at a time with slanted tweezers along the part and at the temple corners, checking often. Leave the hairline under the bangs as it is; it keeps the bangs full.

Can I get a wig with bangs?

Yes, bangs can be cut on request; ask us before ordering and we confirm the cost and extra time.

Can I get a pre-plucked hairline?

Often yes: it depends on the hair batch in production, so ask us before you order and we confirm it for your wig.

Are custom changes included in the price?

Options such as glueless and bleached knots show their price when you pick them; other custom work such as special cuts is quoted separately.
