Burgundy Wig
The color
Burgundy is a rich red-violet, darker and cooler than copper. It adds color while staying wearable every day.
Who it flatters
Burgundy's violet side suits cool and neutral undertones best: on fair skin with pink undertones it looks jewel-bright, on olive skin it offsets the green in the complexion, and on deep skin with cool or neutral undertones it makes a rich contrast. Golden or very warm skin can wear it too, in a redder burgundy rather than a purple one. Keep eye makeup neutral and let the hair bring the color; rose blush and a berry or wine lip match it, while orange or coral clashes. Dark brown brows keep it grounded.
How to style it
Burgundy stays visibly colored even indoors, so the texture you pick decides how the color moves. Straight burgundy reads as one jewel-toned sheet; body wave adds brighter red where each wave turns; deep wave shows the most depth, violet in the shadows and red on top. Bright color at the hairline draws the eye to the lace, so keep the edges soft and a little irregular rather than sharply laid. High heat dulls red-violet toward brown: use a protectant and moderate heat.
Care tips
A color-safe shampoo and cool rinses keep the violet depth.
Burgundy tends to lose its violet first, so a faded burgundy drifts toward a pinker, warmer red. A violet-red color-depositing conditioner every few washes puts the depth back. Wash in cool water with a color-safe, sulfate-free shampoo, and keep clarifying shampoo and pool water away from it. Blot it with a dark towel, since rinses can still carry some pigment, and let it air-dry out of direct sun, which fades the violet fastest.
Dyeing and toning
Burgundy is dyed over lightened hair, so any deeper or brighter red-violet deposits straight over it: more violet gives plum, more red gives cherry, and blue-black or 1B covers it completely in one step. The hard direction is lighter: red-violet pigment stains lightened hair, so brown needs a color remover first and still comes out warm, and blonde is not realistic. Tell us whether you want it deeper, redder or more purple; custom color is quoted before you pay.

Questions about these wigs
What color is a burgundy wig?
A burgundy wig is a red-violet: deep red with a purple edge, named after the wine. It is brighter and more clearly colored than 99J, and cooler and darker than copper, so it reads as a jewel tone rather than natural red hair. Ours comes as straight, body wave and deep wave lace fronts from 12 to 32 inches (30 to 81 cm).
What is the difference between burgundy and 99J?
Burgundy is brighter and redder; 99J is darker and more plum. Under office or evening light, burgundy still reads as clear red-violet, while 99J can look nearly black with a wine sheen. Both need the same cool-water care, but burgundy shows fading sooner because it is brighter. Burgundy comes as 13x4 lace fronts; 99J also comes with closures and as a bob.
How do you dye a burgundy wig black?
Use a deposit-only black and it covers burgundy in one step, because you are going darker. Choose blue-black if you want the red gone completely, or 1B for a softer black with a faint wine glint in the sun. Section the hair while clean and damp, apply from the ends up, keep dye away from the lace, and rinse in cool water until clear; the first rinse will run red.
How do you dye a wig burgundy?
It depends on the starting color. On blonde such as 613, a burgundy dye deposits straight away and comes out bright, so check it early. On brown, a light lift first keeps it from looking muddy; on black, burgundy shows only as a dark glow unless the hair is lifted to a red stage first. Always strand-test, apply on damp hair off the lace, and rinse cool.
What is a dark burgundy wig?
Dark burgundy is burgundy on a deeper base, so the red-violet looks richer and closer to black-cherry, while still showing clear color in daylight. It sits between our burgundy and our 99J. If you want your burgundy wig darker, ask us before you order: we can deepen it before shipping, quoted before you pay, or you can deposit a darker red-violet at home.
Can I get a burgundy and blonde wig?
Yes, as custom color: blonde highlights through burgundy, or burgundy tips on a blonde base, quoted before you pay. Tell us which color should lead and where the blonde sits, for example face-framing pieces. Expect a little extra care: when wet, red-violet can tint the blonde next to it, so wash it in cool water, rinse quickly, and never leave it wet and bunched.
Is there a short burgundy wig?
Our shortest burgundy is 12 inches (30 cm), which falls around the chin to the neck when straight and sits shorter in body wave or deep wave, since waves take up length. For a true bob or a cut above the chin, we can cut one on request, quoted before you pay. At that length, deep wave gives a full, rounded shape and straight a sleek, jaw-skimming line.
Which textures come in Burgundy?

How do I care for a Burgundy wig?
