The color

4/27 highlight mixes a chocolate-brown base with honey-blonde streaks. The streaks catch light and frame the face for a sun-kissed look.

Who it flatters

4/27 suits warm and neutral undertones from light to deep: the honey streaks bounce light onto the face and glow against tan and deep skin. On fair, cool skin the gold can look brassy; toning the streaks to a softer beige fixes that. Keep brows in the brown of the base, not the blonde. The brown base already frames the part, so it needs less root work than a full blonde. Bronze, peach and warm gold makeup pick up the honey; cool greys and silvers fight it.

How to style it

Texture changes how the highlights read. Straight 4/27 shows clean ribbons of honey through the brown; body wave and deep wave blend the two, so the blonde flickers through the curls and looks softer from a distance. A deep side part stacks more blonde on top, while half-up styles and ponytails show the streaks against the brown underneath. The blonde strands are lightened hair, so set the heat for them, not for the brown: moderate, with a protectant.

Care tips

Treat the blonde streaks gently: they are lightened hair.

4/27 ages in two directions: the honey streaks turn brassy yellow while the brown base can turn red. Treat each tone separately. A purple shampoo or mask on the streaks now and then keeps the honey clean; cool water and a color-safe shampoo keep the brown from turning orange. Deep condition the lightened streaks more than the base, since they dry out first, and keep the wig out of pools and strong sun, which yellow the blonde fastest.

Dyeing and toning

Two tones give 4/27 two ways to recolor. The blonde streaks take toner or dye easily: beige or ash for cooler highlights, or copper, pink or red for a fashion streak over the brown. Covering everything in brown or 1B works once the streaks are filled. Going lighter all over is not realistic without lifting the brown base too. Tell us what should change, streaks or base; custom color is quoted before you pay.

Questions about these wigs

What does 4/27 mean on a wig?

It is a color code: #4 is the chocolate brown base and #27 the honey blonde of the highlights. The result is a warm brunette with golden streaks that frame the face and catch light. The first number is usually the base and the second the highlight, so 1B/27 means the same honey on natural black. Ours comes in straight, wavy and curly textures, in lace fronts, closures and bobs.

What is the difference between 4/27, P4/27 and M4/27?

Only the placement: all three combine chocolate brown and honey blonde. 4/27 has defined honey streaks that show as separate pieces. P4/27, piano highlight, alternates fine strands of both, so from a distance it blends into a soft brown-blonde. M4/27, mixed highlight, places brown and blonde sections together for a visible two-tone mix. Choose 4/27 for clear streaks over brown, P4/27 for the softest blend and M4/27 for a two-tone look.

How do you highlight a wig at home?

Plan the placement, then lighten only those strands. Pull fine strands through a highlighting cap for a soft effect, or weave sections onto foil for bolder streaks. Apply lightener, check every few minutes, and rinse when the strands reach a shade lighter than the target, then tone them to honey, beige or ash. Keep lightener off the lace, condition deeply afterward, and start at the nape to test your timing.

Can you tone the highlights on a 4/27 wig?

Yes, and only the blonde streaks need it: they are lightened, while the brown base barely reacts to toner. A violet toner moves the honey to beige or ash; a gold toner makes it warmer and richer. Apply it to the streaks with a tint brush, or use a gentle purple mask over the whole wig. Rinse in cool water and check the result in daylight.

How do you dye a highlighted wig one color?

Fill the streaks first, then dye the whole wig. Lightened streaks have lost their warm pigment, so a brown or black straight over them turns patchy or greenish while the base takes it evenly. Paint a warm red-gold filler on the streaks only, rinse, then apply the new color all over on damp hair. Stay a shade or two darker than the brown base for the most even result.

Should I choose 4/27 or 1B/27?

Choose 4/27 for a softer, sun-kissed blend: the honey streaks sit on warm brown, so the contrast is gentle. 1B/27 puts the same honey on natural black, so the streaks stand out more and the part stays darker. If your own hair is black, 1B/27 matches your roots and brows better; if it is brown or you want less contrast, 4/27 is the better fit. 1B/27 can be made on request, quoted before you pay.

Can I get highlights only around my face?

Yes, as custom color: a money piece, two brighter blonde sections at the front over a brown or black base, quoted before you pay. It gives the brightening effect of highlights right where it shows, with less blonde to care for. Tell us the width of the pieces and the shade, from honey #27 to a lighter beige, before you order.
