13x6 Lace Front
A 13x6 lace front covers the same hairline as 13x4 but is 6 inches deep. The deeper lace allows deeper side parts and more styling freedom at the crown side.
Glueless
It can be ordered glueless too: pick the glueless add-on when you choose your options.
What does a 13x6 wig look like?
From the front, a 13x6 looks exactly like a 13x4: the same 13 inches (33 cm) of lace along the hairline, from ear to ear. The difference is on top. The lace runs 6 inches (15 cm) back from the hairline, close to the crown, so much of the top of the head is hand-knotted lace instead of wefts.
That changes what you can do with the part. On a 13x6 a part looks like scalp for about six inches, and the hair around it lies flatter and more natural because there are no weft tracks right under it. When you flip the part to the other side or push the hair back, the root area still reads as skin, which is why 13x6 is the lace to choose for deep side parts and sleek styles.
Deep side parts and other styles a 13x6 handles
The extra two inches of lace matter most for styles where the part or the roots are on show.
- Deep side part: start it above the tail of the eyebrow and run it back the full six inches; the line stays on lace the whole way.
- Switching sides: flip the part from left to right whenever you like; both sides of the line are lace, so neither side looks thin.
- Long middle part: shows a longer stretch of scalp down the center, useful for sleek straight styles.
- Half up, half down: the section you lift shows lace roots further back than a 13x4 allows.
- Deep side part bob: a side sweep with volume on one side needs this depth; our bob wigs come with 13x4 or 13x6 lace.
Who should choose a 13x6 over a 13x4?
Choose by how much your part is part of the look. If you always wear a middle part or a gentle side part, a 13x4 does the same job. The 13x6 earns its place when the part is dramatic, when you change it often, or when the top of the head is seen up close, on camera or from above.
It also suits long, high-density wigs. A 26 inch wig at 250% carries a lot of hair, and a deep side part is the usual way to style that volume; with 13x6 lace the part still looks like scalp instead of a line of wefts. Installation is the same as a 13x4: the front edge is still 13 inches, and the extra depth sits behind the glue line, so it needs no adhesive of its own.
Caring for the larger lace of a 13x6
More lace means more hand-tied knots on top, and the parting area is where hands, brushes and products land every day. A little care there keeps the part full.
- Detangle the top with a wide-tooth comb from the ends upward, and never drag a brush across the lace.
- Keep heavy oils, serums and edge products off the lace; they can loosen knots and make the part look greasy.
- Wash by pressing shampoo through the hair with your palms instead of scrubbing the top, then let it dry on a stand.
- If you tint the lace or use concealer at the part, remove it gently with a damp cloth before washing, so the lace is not rubbed.
- With HD lace, which is thinner, set and change the part with fingertips or a comb tail, never with nails.
Questions about these wigs
How do you make a 13x6 frontal wig?
The same way as any frontal wig, with more lace on top. Pin a dome cap to a canvas head and sew the 13x6 frontal along the hairline, ear to ear, then around its back edge, which sits about six inches back. Sew the wefts from the nape up until they reach that edge; there are fewer rows on top than with a 13x4. Cut the cap away under the lace, add a band and style the deep part. Ours come ready to wear from the factory.
What does a 13x6 wig mean?
It is a lace front with lace 13 inches wide, ear to ear, and 6 inches deep, from the hairline toward the crown. The width matches a 13x4; the two extra inches of depth give a longer parting space, so deep side parts and pushed-back styles still look like scalp. Behind the lace the cap is sewn wefts, in the same one size.
What's the difference between a 13x4 and 13x6 wig?
Only the depth of the lace: 4 inches on a 13x4, 6 inches on a 13x6, with the same 13 inch width and the same way of installing. The 13x6 lets you part further back and flip the part without showing wefts. If you keep a middle or gentle side part, a 13x4 looks the same once it is on.
How do you install a 13x6 wig?
The same way as a 13x4, because the front edge is identical: flat base and wig cap, wig on from front to back, band tightened, lace trimmed along the hairline, then adhesive, tape or the glueless band. One extra step: decide on your part before you secure the edge, so a deep side part falls on the side you want to wear.
What is a 13x6 HD lace frontal wig?
It is a 13x6 lace front made with HD lace, a thinner lace that blends into the skin at close range. On a 13x6 the choice matters more than on a closure, because six inches of parting lace are on show. HD lace tears more easily, so trim it slowly and lift it with remover rather than pulling.
Is there a 13x6 bob wig in human hair?
Yes. Our bob wigs, 10 to 16 inches, are made with 13x4 or 13x6 lace, all in 100% human hair; the lace choices of each style show on its page. Pick 13x6 if you wear the bob with a deep side part and volume on one side; for a blunt bob with a middle part, 13x4 is enough.
Does a 250 density 13x6 wig look natural?
It looks full and glam rather than everyday-natural: 250% puts a lot of hair on the cap, close to the top of our range. The deeper lace helps, since you can push that volume into a deep side part that still shows scalp. For an everyday look choose 180%, and check the weight table before going very long at 250%.
Can you wear a 13x6 wig in a ponytail?
Yes, a low or mid-height ponytail works well: the lace runs ear to ear, so the hairline stays natural when the hair is pulled back, and the six inches of lace on top keep the roots looking like scalp. A very high ponytail is harder, because the nape of any lace front is wefts and can show.
Can a 13x6 Lace Front wig be glueless?
It can be ordered glueless too: pick the glueless add-on when you choose your options.
